The Industry Exchange was established in January 2002 by Phil Andrews. He started the company because he was tired of seeing business people spend their time and their company’s money at expensive Power Point-driven conferences. He recognised that the conferences are produced to generate profit for the organiser and do nothing to remove the barriers preventing people from exchanging ideas, undertaking genuine learning and developing business opportunities.

Many commercial conference organisers are simply interested in the number of people who attend, and not in the output of the conference. Once the conference is over, no-one is responsible for disseminating or progressing any of the best practice or group learning uncovered at the event. Phil decided to reinvent the process for the sake of delegates, speakers, sponsors and business value.

The Industry Exchange team is made up of a group of expert former conference producers and experienced event managers, backed up by an effective sales and marketing function. The Industry Exchange team also work on events projects organised and run by its sister company Getenergy Ltd (Global Education and Training for Energy).
